About Caregiving

Caregivers assist people living with physical or mental disabilities, chronic illnesses or other frailties by looking after their physical, mental, social and psychological needs. Many people do not see themselves as caregivers even though they are giving their time and energy to help someone manage their daily living. While the majority of informal caregivers are providing care for a family member, there are also many caregivers who may be friends, neighbours or acquaintances.

In this section you will find resources on caregiving, supports for caregivers, and how to plan for the future as a caregiver of someone with complex conditions or disabilities.
